Azerbaijan and Armenia sign initial agreement to normalize relations
On August 9, Azerbaijan and Armenia issued a joint statement saying that the two countries initialled the text of the "Agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia on the Establishment of Peace and Inter-State Relations" on the same day, and the two countries "finally created the conditions for the establishment of good-neighborly relations."
